Abstract From the Canadian patent

This invention provides a method for analyzing analytes in a sample by mass spectrometry. The method involves pre-fractionating the sample by size exclusion and/or ion, exchange chromatography applying the sample to an adsorbent attached to the surface of a, mass spectrometry probe, and allowing both specific and non-specific adsorption of analytes, the adsorbent (e.g. by allowing the sample to dry without washing to remove unbound, sample). Then an energy absorbing material is added to the dried sample and , the sample is, analyzed by laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 21, 2000. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 21, 2020.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 21, 2022.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
