Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention concerns a method for injecting a reactive power into an alternative current system, whereby, for at least one supply main (10) a , compensating voltage (Ucomp), with a phase displacement relative to the current flowing in the main (10) is produced and injected into the main (10). Said method is characterised in that a simplified compensation is obtained by the fact that the compensating voltage (Ucomp) is produced from a direct current by means of an inverter (11) comprising bridge-connected power semiconductors and capable of being switched off and the compensating voltage , (Ucomp) is series-injected directly into the main (10).

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 27, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 27, 2018.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 27, 2020.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
