Abstract From the Canadian patent

Retroreflective articles of the invention comprise a continuous base layer (16) and a multi-color polymeric top layer. The invention also includes methods of making such retroreflective articles. The retroreflective articles of the invention provide excellent daytime contrast while maintaining nighttime retroreflectivity. Variously colored segments of polymer are directly and either sequentially or simultaneously coated onto a continuous backing to form a multi-colored top layer. Durability over existing multicolored retroreflective articles is enhanced by use of a continuous base layer.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 7, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 7, 2018.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 7, 2020.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
