The invention concerns a pyrotechnical unscrewing-screwing device consisting essentially of a mass-hammer (6) launched at high speed on an anvil (10) whereof the lever arm is connected to the element to be unscrewed unlocked, screwed or locked. The reaction is provided by an inertial compensating mass (15) containing the expansion chamber (7) acting as launch tube for the hammer (6). Said compensating mass (15) which is freely rotating is braked and brought back in its initial position by a spring (38). The operating speed of the hammer (6) is provided by the gases of a micro-generator of pyrotechnical gas (2) mounted on a re-chargeable cylinder (16).

Why it's free to use
- Filed June 17, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended June 17, 2018.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 17, 2020.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
