Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention concerns a capacitive sensor for measuring a liquid level in a reservoir (1) comprising a body (7) for mounting the sensor and a first capacitor plate (8) borne by the body and designed to form with a second capacitor plate (41) a capacitor designed to be connected to potential difference source which capacitor plates are designed to be partially immersed in the liquid defining between them a space for receiving the liquid. The first capacitor plate (8) is mounted adjustable on the body between a high measuring position and a low measuring position. The invention is applicable to nitrogen storage in liquid/vapour equilibrium for preserving biological products.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 1, 1999. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 1, 2019.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 1, 2021.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
