Abstract From the Canadian patent

A drop manhole assembly with sections each having a fluid (e.g. sewage) cavity and a generally parallel manhole cavity defined therein where, surfaces of the sections transverse to the cavities have protruding lips or recesses which fit together when the sections are stacked to form the drop manhole. The protruding lips and recesses have a profile large enough to surround and circumscribe both the fluid cavity and the manhole cavity so, that alignment of the fluid cavity is facilitated and so that a single watertight, seal (e.g. gasket) can be used at the lip-and-recess juncture between drop manhole sections.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 7, 1999. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended December 7, 2019.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 7, 2021.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
