An in vivo modification process is described. The process affects the mannoseto-galactose ratio of either an organism (or part thereof) capable of producing a mannose/galactose containing compound or of a mannose/galactose containing compound thereof. The in vivo modification process comprises expressing a nucleotide sequence that has an effect on: (a) the mannose-togalactose ratio of mannose and galactose components of a mannose/galactose containing compound; and/or (b) the mannose-to-galactose ratio of mannose and galactose precursors for a mannose/galactose containing compound; and wherein the nucleotide sequence is antisense to at least a part of the gene for a UDPgalactose …

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 27, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 27, 2018.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 27, 2020.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
