Abstract From the Canadian patent

For multicode transmission, to reduce the peak power the amplitude is , converted on the transmission side and an estimator for compensating for the distortion due to the conversion is provided on the receiving side. In one method for this, MOD calculation for every chip is performed on the transmission side, and the amplitude lost by the MOD is estimated on the receiving side, thereby reducing the peak power to one-ninth. In estimating the amplitude lost by the MOD calculation it is judged which is more likely, odd or even multiple of the denominator of the MOD among all the codes used.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 29, 1999. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 29, 2019.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 29, 2021.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
