A fermenter for fermenting animal manure under aerobic conditions which , fermenter comprises a cylindrical tube which is rotatable about its , longitudinal axis wherein the cylindrical tube is subdivided over substantially the entire length of the tube into at least two separate compartments, which compartments are made up of a partition which extends over substantially the entire length of the tube. The present invention furthermore relates to a device and a method for fermenting animal manure under aerobic conditions, using such a fermenter.
