Abstract From the Canadian patent

This invention relates to Brassica plants and methods of breeding Brassica plants. More particularly, the invention relates to the use of molecular markers for determining the genotype of the Ogura Rf gene in Brassica plants at an early stage in their development. The method involves using a combination of primers derived from RAPD markers in PCR reactions to allow discrimination between homozygous, heterozygous and non-restorer or sterile genotypes. Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 10, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended June 10, 2018.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 10, 2020.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
