The invention concerns an adaptive senso-motor encoder with a central checking unit (3) for signal-processing functions monitoring functions, control , functions and/or external action functions with a group of adaptive spatio-, temporal filters for converting sensor signals into stimulation pulse sequences, and with an interface (2) for coupling the encoder (3) to an implantable microstructure (6, 7) for stimulating nerve or glia tissue the , interface being bi-directional.
