A chemical synthesis apparatus (20) for building chemical compounds including a head assembly (21) having an array of movable nozzles coupled to reservoirs of liquid reagents and a base assembly having an array of reaction wells (26) is described. A transport mechanism aligns selected nozzle columns (41) in the X-direction, independently controllable sliders (100) move nozzle columns (41) in the Y-direction. The first sliding seal (30) and the plurality of second sliding seals (120) form enclosed reaction wells while permitting reagent delivery. A gas inlet (70) and outlet (71) sweep away fumes emitted by reagents. Methods of compound synthesis from chemical components are also …

Why it's free to use
- Filed February 5, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended February 5, 2018.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 5, 2020.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
