An SuT is a arbitrary, subsequence-tree of the original tree which is further subjected to , substitution insertion and, deletion errors yielding the NSuT. This invention has application to the general area of, comparing tree structures which is commonly used in computer science and in , particular to the, areas of statistical syntactic and structural pattern recognition.

Why it's free to use
- Filed August 5, 1999. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended August 5, 2019.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 5, 2021.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
