A specific region of chromosome 10 (10q23.3) has been implicated by series of studies to contain a tumor suppressor gene involved in gliomas as well as a , number of other human cancers. One gene within this region was identified and , the corresponding coding region of the gene represents a novel 47 kD protein. A domain of this product has an exact match to the conserved catalytic domain of protein tyrosine phosphatases, indicating a possible functional role in phosphorylation events. Why it's free to use
- Filed January 8, 1998 and granted April 19, 2016. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended January 8, 2018.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 8, 2020.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
