Abstract From the Canadian patent

New phosphors based on doped alkaline earth gallates for electroluminescent (EL) display materials. Bright red EL has been obtained in amorphous and crystalline alkaline earth gallates doped with europium. Powder targets of compositions Sr4Ga2O7, Sr7Ga4O13, Sr3Ga2O6 Sr3Ga4O9, SrGa4O7, SrGa12O19, Ba4Ga2O7 Ba3Ga2O6 and Ca3Ga4O9 doped with 1-2 % Eu where RF magnetron , sputtered onto BaTiO3 substrates. Both annealed an as-deposited films yielded bright EL emission in the red part of the visible spectrum with peaks characteristic of the Eu3+ ion.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed January 23, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended January 23, 2018.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 23, 2020.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
