Abstract From the Canadian patent

A process plant for the manufacture of halobutyl rubber is provided with online monitoring and control of the process parameters to control the properties of the product. It incorporates an in situ measurement system that does not require the removal of any sample material from the process. It uses a Fourier Transform Near Infrared (FTNIR) spectrometer fiber-optic cables, a , viscometer for measuring solution viscosity and a Resistance Temperature Device (RTD) for temperature measurement. An online real-time analyzer system using a Constrained Principal Spectral Analysis program predicts the property of the polymer product and provides the process control system with analysis of the …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 31, 1997 and granted July 24, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 31, 2017.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 31, 2019.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
