The present invention relates to a semi-continuous method for the production of polyadducts of alkylene oxide by an addition reaction of alkylene oxide on a chain initiator having at least one active hydrogen. In the method of the present invention, there is provided a reactor (1) constituted by a cylindrical body with two diameters, the upper part being of larger diameter than the lower part, heat-exchange means (2) and recycling ducts (13 15) for , the recycling of the reaction mixture from the bottom to the head of the reactor in order to obtain the final desired product.
