Abstract From the Canadian patent

Phosphorus-containing compounds such as cyanophosphonate derivatives are important precursors for the synthesis of organophosphorus compounds which , have numerous applications, for example in herbicides, insecticides, fertilizers flame retardants and plasticizers. Cyanophosphonate derivatives can be further converted to aminomethylphosphonate derivatives which have , been particularly important precursors in the synthesis of Nphosphonomethyglycine, a highly effective commercial herbicide (available under the trade name Roundup) useful for the control of a large variety of weeds. The syntheses of such organophosphorus compounds have commonly used a hologen derivative of phosphorus as a …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 23, 1997. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended December 23, 2017.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 23, 2019.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
