An apparatus for joint synchronization of digital communication signals from multiple receive channels is disclosed. In one embodiment the apparatus , comprises a control unit a metric computer, a decimator and a switch. The control unit generates test sampling phase vectors for use in decimating the signals. The output of the decimator is used by the metric computer to form a metric predictive of the performance of a demodulator. The metric is used by the control unit to select an optimal sampling phase vector. In one embodiment, the metric computer calculates the signal to impairment plus noise ratio (SINR) at the output of the demodulator based on the decimated signals. An …

Why it's free to use
- Filed December 8, 1997. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended December 8, 2017.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 8, 2019.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
