Abstract From the Canadian patent

A computer system and a method to segment two dimensional Magnetic Resonance Images that include a substructure is disclosed herein. The method consists of first receiving a set of MRI. The segmentation is then performed by the user on the first image of the set. Using this information, the system proceeds with the segmentation of the other images in the set, by first estimating the center position of, the substructure. The system then find the pixel of the substructure's contour for different angular positions about the center of the substructure. This is achieved by the system by predicting the contour position and using that predicted position to find the position of the pixel belonging …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 14, 1999. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended June 14, 2019.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 14, 2021.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
