Abstract From the Canadian patent

A communication network provides data transfer between multiple nodes. Dual switches ave established at each identified distributed node. Each dual switch has two single switches which are internally connected. The dual switches are configured into a ring structure. Single switches in each dual switch, are connected to one of the single switches contained in each adjacent dual switch. Switching logic is programmed into each single switch thereby allowing for routing of data via multiple paths in the ring structure. The number of links, required to establish the network is equal to 2N where N is the number of nodes, contained in the network.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 26, 1999. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 26, 2019.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 26, 2021.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
