Abstract From the Canadian patent

This invention concerns a three-phase current regulator with interruptperformed phase control characterized by a simple cost-effective design, particularly by the use of a simple microcontroller (1) with only one or two interrupt inputs. This is made possible by forming zero crossover signals (U0A U0B, U0C) the edges of which can be , used for interrupt control. Interrupt routines in the program of the microcontroller (1) control the times for output of firing signals (ZA ZB, ZC) starting exclusively from the zero crossovers as data about the three-phase network.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 7, 1997 and granted September 4, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 7, 2017.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 7, 2019.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
