Abstract From the Canadian patent

This invention concerns a process for operating a PEM fuel cell system (2) with at least one PEM fuel cell block (4) and an upstream compressor (8) the rotational speed of which is controlled. To regulate the electrical current I of the PEM fuel cell block (4) to a new set value I SN in a first step, the rotational speed (n) of the compressor (8) is set at a maximum value n M and, in a second step re-, duced to a rotational speed n SN which corresponds to the new set value I SN. These measure provide improved dynamics for brief and rapid changes in load.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 18, 1997 and granted November 25, 2003. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended September 18, 2017.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 18, 2019.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
