In a medical injection device a capsule (1) containing the fluid to be injected has a resilient piston (5) acted upon by a plunger (8') which moves a set distance when pressed or released, to inject a predetermined dose. To reduce errors arising from the resilience instead of a wholly flat end face , the plunger (8') has a centrally recessed (13) working end leaving an annular , face (14) in a radial plate to act on the plunger (5).

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 2, 1997. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 2, 2017.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 2, 2019.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
