Abstract From the Canadian patent

A direction finder is provided that can measure the incoming angles of plural incoming signals without spatially moving antenna elements and can be used in outdoor mobile communication environments. The direction finder also can shorten the measurement time. An array antenna (2) consists of plural antenna elements (1) arranged regular intervals. The received signal components due to the mutual coupling between the antenna elements are removed by multiplying time series signal groups by the inverse matrix of a coupling coefficient matrix of the array antenna. The time series signal groups are obtained by modulating signals received with the array antenna. The covariance matrix of the …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 23, 1999 and granted December 10, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended March 23, 2019.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 23, 2021.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
