This invention relates to a method for producing sintered parts of aluminum or aluminum, alloy with improved mechanical properties using batch degassing die , compaction and liquid, phase sintering. The batch degassing consists of holding a prealloyed aluminum powder at a, temperature of about 350° to about 450°C in a stainless steel autoclave in which the pressure is, reduced to less than 5 x 10-6 torr. Once the desired pressure is reached the powder is cooled, down within the autoclave while still under vacuum. The resulting powder is then compacted at, a pressure of 20 to 50 tsi at between room temperature and about 250°C but preferably at a, warm temperature of about 65°C. The …

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 8, 1999. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 8, 2019.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 8, 2021.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
