Improvements in the field of tool holders are disclosed which address several shortcomings of the currently available products for use in attachment to a surface such as a truck bucket. For example, the addition of spacing legs of sufficient length to the rear surface of a tool holder allows for the angling of the open end of the tool holder towards the operator. A tool holder with pockets attached to it allows for the storage and retrieval of other items in addition to the main tool held by the tool holder. Finally a tool holder, with attachment rings disposed thereon allows for the attachment of a safety line or other item via a clip directly to the tool holder rather than elsewhere.

Why it's free to use
- Filed January 21, 1999. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended January 21, 2019.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 21, 2021.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
