Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to a circuit for operating a generator having a plurality of generator coils in which a voltage is induced. At low rotational speeds and/or low voltage output, at least two of the generator coils are connected in series and at higher, rotational speeds and/or at a higher voltage output of the individual generator coils, the latter are connected in parallel, with the result that the generator voltage of the generator is reduced. As a result of this the total voltage of the generator, is kept in a predetermined range in a simple manner without complicated voltage regulators being necessary for this purpose. In addition, high output voltages which enable operation of …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 4, 1997 and granted November 27, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended July 4, 2017.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 4, 2019.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
