The present invention relates to an apparatus for lifting and moving articles comprising at least one arrangement (12) with a cavity (14) hereafter called , vacuum chamber, which is connected to an arrangement (40) which is capable of producing negative pressure in said vacuum chamber the underside of said , lower plate (16) being provided with an elastic airtight bottom (18) and also being provided with a number of first through-passages (20) to said vaccuum chamber.
