The strand of telomeric DNA that runs 5' to 3' towards a chromosome end is typically G-rich. Due to the properties of conventional DNA polymerases telomerase-generated tails of this G-rich strand are expected on only one end of individual linear DNA molecules. In Saccharomyces TG1-3 tails are detected , on chromosome and linear plasmid telomeres late in S phase. Moreover the , telomeres of linear plasmids can interact when the TG1-3 tails are present. Molecules were generated in vitro that mimic the structures predicted for telomere replication intermediates. These in vivo generated molecules formed telomere-telomere interactions similar to those on molecules isolated from yeast but …

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 2, 1997. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 2, 2017.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 2, 2019.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
