A storage system comprises a powercord storage tool (10 or 30 or 40 or 50) and an appliance storage container (100). A rack (112 114, 116, 118, 120, 122, 124) is provided on the outside of the appliance storage container (100) for attaching and holding the powercord storage tool (10 or 30 or 40 or 50). The powercord storage tool (10 or 30 or 40 or 50) also includes a guide (248) for manually winding the powercord.
