Abstract From the Canadian patent

The voltage of each of battery block (50-1 ~ 50-n) of a battery (50) is detected by a voltage sensor (70-1 ~ 70-n). Further the, temperature of the battery (50) is detected by a temperature sensor (74). These detected values are supplied to a detecting section (80) of a battery ECU (68). A judging section (82) reads out the threshold value of the voltage stored in a memory (84) on the basis, of the detected values of temperature and compares the threshold, value of the voltage with the detected voltage of each of the battery blocks (50-1 ~ 50-n). Then, if at least any one is less than the threshold value of the voltage, a relay (76) is turned off. Furthermore the threshold value of the …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 8, 1998 and granted December 9, 2003. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 8, 2018.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 8, 2020.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
