Abstract From the Canadian patent

Pattern data-like illustrations is stored in a ROM (24) in a printer (200). This pattern data is sent via a communication cable (30) to a digital camera (100) from the printer (200). In the digital camera (300) image data , representing a still picture stored in a compressed form in an image memory (9) and pattern data sent from the printer (200) are both expanded by a compressing/expanding section (8) after which they are synthesized with each other, and an image corresponding to the synthesized data is displayed on a color LCD (19).
