Abstract From the Canadian patent

An exhaust gas purification catalyst and an exhaust gas purification method using the same which can effectively remove oxides of nitrogen in an exhaust gas containing a large amount of oxygen and reduce the amount of particulate materials formed in the exhaust gas under high temperature conditions. The catalyst comprises a catalytic component comprising copper praseodymium, and , yttrium. The method comprises bringing an exhaust gas having a molar ratio of hydrocarbons to oxides of nitrogen (hydrocarbon/nitrogen oxide) of 0.5 to 30 into contact with the above catalyst to purify the exhaust gas. This enables oxides of nitrogen in the exhaust gas to be efficiently removed by reduction …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 26, 1996 and granted March 19, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 26, 2016.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 26, 2018.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
