A method and system for enhanced bus access in a multiprocessor system having multiprocessors coupled to a system memory via a common wide bus. The common wide bus is subdivided into multiple sub-buses which may be accessed individually or in groups by a selected processor, or individual sub-buses may be accessed by multiple processors simultaneously. In response to one or more pending transactions each processor outputs, a request to bus arbitration logic for a maximum-permitted number of sub-buses. Why it's free to use
- Filed August 14, 1998 and granted August 6, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended August 14, 2018.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 14, 2020.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
