Abstract From the Canadian patent

A molding raw material (9) is heated and swollen by applying a voltage from a power source portion (2) having an A.C. power source for induction heating to a power feed plate (29) and applying an electric field to a power receiving plate (28), which is out of contact with the power feed plate (29) in a , direction crossing the moving direction of a mold (8). This design can prevent the mold from coming into contact with an electrode and generating arc discharge during heat-molding of a biodegradable molded article by induction heating.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 12, 1997 and granted March 26, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 12, 2017.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 12, 2019.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
