Abstract From the Canadian patent

Bath with a pH of over 4 containing more than 1 mole/litre of Zn2+ ions and at least one polyethylene glycol polymer of the general formula R1-O-(CH2-CH2-O)n-R2 where n ~ 13 and where the concentration of polymer in the bath is adjusted to incorporate into the coating an organic compound at a % by weight of over 0.1% expressed as weight of carbon relative to weight of coating. This bath is designed for high current densities and the coating applied on the sheet steel provides both a levelling effect and improved corrosion resistance.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 25, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended June 25, 2018.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 25, 2020.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
