A planar array antenna (12) having radiating elements characterized by dual simultaneous polarization states and having substantially rotationally symmetric, radiation patterns. A distribution network (16) which is connected to each , dual, polarized radiator communicates the electromagnetic signals from and to each radiating element. A ground plane (14) is positioned generally parallel to and spaced apart from the radiating elements by a predetermined distance. The conductive surface of the ground plane operates to image the radiating elements, over a wide coverage area, thereby enabling a radiation pattern within an azimuth, plane of the antenna to be independent of any quantity of …

Why it's free to use
- Filed December 11, 1996 and granted March 19, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 11, 2016.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 11, 2018.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
