Abstract From the Canadian patent

A method for recording and pre-processing high fidelity vibratory seismic data includes the steps of measuring the motion of the vibrator which is related to the vibrator applied force times a transfer function of minimum phase causal, linear system relating the actual vibrator output with the measured vibrator motion (50), separation of signals according to generating source (52) determining a ratio by dividing the vibratory seismic data by the measured motion of the vibrator to remove the unknown applied force leaving the earth reflectivity times a time derivative divided by a minimum phase function (54) minimum phase band pass filtering the resulting ratio (54) and performing …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 27, 1996 and granted May 15, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended September 27, 2016.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 27, 2018.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
