Abstract From the Canadian patent

A method of cooling an article within a heated mold of a stretch blow molding apparatus. In accordance with the method a cryogenic liquid refrigerant is mixed with a vapor to produce a cooling fluid. The cooling fluid is introduced into the article. The refrigerant and vapor are mixed such that the cooling fluid assumes a two phase flow no later than upon its introduction into the article. The vapor flow rate is controlled and therefore the specific cooling potential of the cooling fluid is also regulated so that the article is heat set in an accurate and controlled manner that is reproducible.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 1, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 1, 2018.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 1, 2020.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
