Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to an ultrasound flow rate measurement method using a measuring tube and at least two ultrasound transducer pairs which are located on the measuring tube and each form a measuring path, whereby the radial components of at least two measuring paths differ from each other relative to the measuring axis and wherein the measured flow rate of a flowing medium is determined from the velocity of the medium along at least two measuring paths. Such a known ultrasound flow rate measurement method is further developed in accordance with the invention in that the turbulence intensity in the medium is determined from the velocity of the medium along the measuring paths, that at …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 29, 1998 and granted August 13, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended April 29, 2018.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 29, 2020.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
