The invention concerns a process for regenerating an aromatics production and reforming catalyst including combustion stages (A), oxychlorination (B) and calcination (C) in which at least one chlorinating agent (line 19) at least one gas containing oxygen (line 18) and water (line 20) are introduced for the oxychlorination stage such that the molar ratio H2O/HCl is 3 to 50. The oxychlorination stage takes place in the presence of an oxychlorination gas containing less than 21% oxygen and at least 50 ppm by weight of chlorine (calculated as HCl) and at a temperature of 350 - 600°C. The moving bed regeneration chamber with use of gases from the combustion chamber is also claimed.

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 9, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 9, 2018.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 9, 2020.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
