This invention involves a method of simplifying the creation of a simulation model for a physical process in a material medium. A set of modelling equations is solved for each basic cell or box in a grid consisting of a large number (n) of cells into which the medium is subdivided. The model can be created at relatively low cost and in a reasonable computing time considering the quality and precision of the simulations produced essentially by reducing the size of the resolution problem. This is accomplished by using a Krylov space of dimension d (much smaller than the number n of boxes). This has the effect of reducing the volume of the resolution operation. The invention can be applied to …

Why it's free to use
- Filed February 11, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended February 11, 2018.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 11, 2020.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
