The present invention relates to a procedure for calibrating a breathalyser (7) by means of a calibrating gas generator (1) with a fluid reservoir (2) for an aqueous ethanol solution (3), and air supply devices, this being designed so as to allow air to percolate through the ethanol solution and conduct gas from the atmosphere above the ethanol solution to the breathalyser (7). In order to equalize the temperature dependency of the ethanol concentration in the gas phase without the need to carry out thermal stabilisation, the process is conducted in the following steps: measurement of the temperature of the ethanol solution by a thermometer (8) and generation of an electrical signal that …

Why it's free to use
- Filed December 31, 1997 and granted July 2, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 31, 2017.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 31, 2019.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
