Abstract From the Canadian patent

Although the majority of the submitted designs are for new engines, several proposals are intended for OHV - Pushrod motors; while in Europe and Japan these engines have almost disappeared from passenger automobiles, they are still going strong on this Continent and are represented not only by vehicles coming off the assembly lines but also in the very strong after-market segment. In the latter several, companies offer complete cylinder heads - to improve the engine's performance - an avenue, which Attain may want to pursue.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 5, 1998. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 5, 2018.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 5, 2020.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
