The present invention relates to a process for making disposable absorbent articles comprising two materials (10 and 20) which are adhered to each other. Importantly, the process utilizes a continuous roll printing unit (30) to provide an adhesive (2) onto a discontinuous series of separated pieces of a substrate material (10). This adhesive printing process can be used to provide full surface covering adhesive areas without the need to cut through the adhesive (2) when separating the pieces of the substrate material (10) after application of the adhesive (2).

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 16, 1996 and granted October 16, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 16, 2016.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 16, 2018.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
