DNA encoding glutamate and avermectin-sensitive chloride channels have been cloned and characterized. The protein is capable of forming channels selectively opened with either avermectin or glutamate. The cDNA has been expressed in recombinant host cells which produce active recombinant protein. The recombinant protein is also purified from the recombinant host cells. In addition, the recombinant host cells are utilized to establish a method for identifying modulators of the receptor activity and receptor modulators are , identified. Receptor modulators active in the method disclosed herein are useful as ectoparasiticides, antiparasitic anthelmenthic, acaracidal and , insecticide …

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 1, 1996 and granted April 19, 2011. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 1, 2016.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 1, 2018.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
