A plant for transmitting electric power comprises a direct voltage network for High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and at least one alternating voltage network connected thereto through a first station. The station transmits electric power between the direct voltage network and the alternating voltage network and comprises at least one VSC converter. The VSC converter converts direct voltage into alternating voltage and conversely, alternating voltage to direct voltage. Why it's free to use
- Filed November 12, 1997 and granted January 14, 2003. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 12, 2017.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 12, 2019.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
