Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to a process for the preparation of products of the formula (1): (see Fig. 1) wherein R represents H or an alkyl group containing 1 to 10 carbon atoms and which can be substituted by one or more aryl heteroaryl, hydroxy or alkene groups, in which hydrazine is reacted with an insufficient quantity of carboxylic acid R COOH. The reaction water and possibly the hydrazine and acid dilution water is then eliminated. This process is particularly useful for preparing 4-amino-1,2,4 triazole.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 6, 1997 and granted September 9, 2003. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 6, 2017.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 6, 2019.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
