A ball valve assembly and method in which a ball valve is rotatable in a conduit section to selectively permit fluid flow through the bore to control the flow of the fluid through the conduit section. An insert is disposed in the valve bore and has a plurality of small-diameter passages and a large-diameter passage extending therethrough. The valve is rotated from its closed position to a first partially-opened position where, the small-diameter passages are in the flow path of the fluid to reduce the flow rate and the noise caused by the fluid flow. Why it's free to use
- Filed October 6, 1997. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 6, 2017.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 6, 2019.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
